Museums and tech tools

On the occasion of World Information Society Day, on Saturday 17^th May the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) held an event full of activities.

The day started at 10am with the conference Museums and tech tools aimed at museum professionals, teachers and tech-savvy participants. The presentations focused on several technologies with interesting applications in museums and education: Raspberry pi and scratch, augmented reality and 3D printers.

At noon, the Junior and First Lego League showcased brilliant project ideas that children from Club Bombeta submitted to the international Lego symposium.

After the show, participants enjoyed a tour around Terrassa with our new augmented reality app Terrassa Augmentada.

From 20h until midnight, the museum joined the European initiative Night of Museums 2014. Besides the permanent and temporary exhibitions of the museum, visitors could enjoy OpenCabaret. The play, by students of Terrassa Institute of Theater, put the icing on the cake of a very successful event, which continued on Sunday with the celebration of International Museum Day.
