Workshop on Cultural Routes

Guided tour through Salzburg

Picture for Showcases News Salzburg

There are numerous cultural routes in Austria. In an ever-closer Europe, the providers of these routes are presented with different options; they can either join other cultural and thematic routes, or they can strive to become a distinct European cultural route by applying at the European Council.

This was the topic of the stakeholder workshop “Cultural Routes of the European Council”, which had been organised by the Austrian Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth (Department for Tourism). At this occasion, Salzburg Research presented some results from the European cultural heritage project CreativeCH.

About 60 participants discussed, amongst others, some results from the CreativeCH local showcase in Salzburg. In particular, the survey findings on young people’s perceptions towards cultural heritage as well as new approaches to communicating cultural heritage to young people were addressed.
