Industrie creative: il ruolo della cultura e dell’innovazione in tempo di crisi (Creative Industries: the role of culture and innovation in times of crisis)
Forum - Rome, 12 July 2012
Prof. Franco Niccolucci, as Coordinator of the CreativeCh project, participated in a half-day workshop organized by the Fondazione Industria e Cultura - Industry and Culture Foundation. The event took place behind “closed doors” to guarantee a lively debate among the invited speakers. The group comprised a restricted number of participants, authoritative representatives from the fields of economy and politics, and from the academic, industrial and cultural world, as well as members of the Scientific Committee of the Foundation. Members of the press were also present at the round table.
The rapid development and diffusion of ICT, together with the growing globalization, pose a challenge to European competitiveness in all sectors of Creative and Cultural Industries, yet these have the potential to provide a European answer to this challenge through the creativity and innovation that they generate. On the one hand, CCI create opportunities in production and distribution; on the other, they modify the traditional models of production and consumption. In order to provide culturally different services, entrepreneurs need to find the conditions that guarantee fair access to the market, which are facilitated by interoperability and standardization.
If Europe wishes to take advantage of this cultural and economic potential of Creative and Cultural Industries, it must provide these with new venues for experimentation, innovation and enterprise.
